I think things have heated up for me lately, so I apologize for not Blogging a lot in the last few days. I am in the throws of a heavy interview schedule with a company and I am trying to line up all the pieces that will be required to land this opportunity.
Just the process of completing the application, background criminal check form, EEOC forms, work history etc is enough to keep you busy. I have a hard time remembering what I made 15 years ago, much less what phone number for them to call to verify employment of a company that has changed, moved, and is under new ownership. Of course that was only one company, so multiply that by whomever I worked for in the last 15 years and we are talking major league research.
Of course this also comes at a time when I am running around the metroplex trying to get the last things needed for the kids and spouse to be back in school and the initial meetings with teachers, administrators and a whole new after school schedule for ballet and other extracurricular activities.
Next time (and actually starting now) I am putting a document together with all of the possible historical questions one could ask about a prior employer. |
