| Career Connection is a great career and job search group in the Dallas Metroplex area. They have helped tens of thousands of people over the years find themselves and the next career move. While not a charity, the costs are very reasonable $10 to join, $10/month and they offer programming, jobsearch help, some counseling, and even a cup of Joe. The goup meets 10-12AM Tuesday Mornings (9:00 for newbies orientation) @ Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church (Don't worry no one is going to make you pray).

I met with Lisa from Career Connection this afternoon. It was really nice of her to buy my sandwich, but it was also not really necessary.
Lisa has asked me to help get Career Connection started in blogging. We are for the time being using Blogger to host. I don't know what kind of band width they will support, but I am sure at somepoint they will ask us to move it to our own server.
In the meantime it will be at http://careerconnection.blogspot.com. Lisa will have some work to do to make it have the same look and feel as the main Career Connection website ( http://www.careerconnection.org/ bit she has some folks on staff or available to help (sort of as I do. ) We really need to drive more people (not a good thing) or more companies (a much better thing) to help drive revenue to keep the doors open and budgets rolling. A good economy is not always good for all.
Lisa Miller is really a great person. A long time ago I use to think she was either Superwoman or sometimes a meglomaniac. However as I have gotten to know her and it has been 5 years, I know she is both a regular standup kind of person and Superwoman in the same package. Who'd of thought she has the same problems with her kids cleaning up after themselves as I do.
Anyway CC is on its way to blogging. |
